Wirelessly posted

Where I had 3g coverage yes. It also seemed to get better edge coverage than my curve did

Yes it gets immensely better coverage everywhere than my curve.

So far I haven't been able to fault much with the bold other than it seems to have shorter battery life. But I have a car charger so F-it.

Yes, in the DC area I had spots where I was unable to get coverage. They were really random places too like Military Rd in NW and a strange part of Montgomery County. Anyway, with the Bold, I now seem to have converage in these places. However, I should note that we seem to have very extensive 3G coverage in this area. I'm almost always on 3G except when I venture up into the boonies in Frederick or something.

I seem to be having more calls not going through. Or the phone will ring once and then it will drop.

there is a big push from att to switch the 3g to the 850mhz freq and i think that will make a major difference. so i'm looking forward to that. as far as for now. it's hard to say cause its not just the 3g thats an improvement, its the phone too. i had an 8800 before and that was a great phone. i would say yes over the 7290 my company gave me in 2006.

Yes. In So. CA I had marginal coverage in my home with my 8100. With my 9000 I have a much stronger signal thanks to 3G.

I'm in the NYC/Northern NJ area. 3G sounds really good on my Bold, as good as a landline to me. I virtually always have a 3G signal when I look at my phone. That's the good news. In practice, the service is really bad, so bad, I'm considering dropping AT&T as I'm getting anywhere from 4 to 10 dropped calls a day using about 1.5-2 hours of phone time a day.

More bars in more places with less service.

Yes, definite improvement. I'm finding the couple of dead spots in my area (on EDGE) are now no problem with 3G.
