Default ATT Navigator vs Garmin Mobile

Please Login to Remove!

Has anyone compared these two GPS tools? Seem Garmin is more economical since ATT is $10/month and Garmin is $99 one time? Which is more useable/friendly, espcially while driving.

You might want to run a search as this has been asked many many times so by doing a search you will get answers very quick. My personal opinion is for Garmin which I love. The nav is nothing more than telenav with a different name. The service is pretty good but I had all kinds of issues canceling it and finally had to file a claim with the credit card company. Garmin is one time charge and is very good. Telenav is 9.99 a month and is also pretty decent. Anyway my opinion do the search and you will get many more.

Default The Garmin is pretty decent

I've been using it for about 3 weeks and I'm happy with it so far. It's replacing my lost Tom Tom, which I loved. If you sign up for the Blackberry Owners Lounge, you'll get the Garmin for $20 cheaper.

Default ATT Bold and Telenav vs ATT Navigator

Ok, one other question. Looking at the Telenav site, they don't support the ATT bold. I called and they said I need to use ATT Navigator. Can anyone confirm this?

I like the compass/walk around feature but I think it's disabled in ATT Nav... wonder what else is different?

Default AT&T Navigator on Bold

It is true. I had Telenav on my 8800 and 8820 but have moved over to the Bold and it uses AT&T Navigator. I can see no difference in the interface and how it works. Works just like Telenav. I'm very happy with it.

I use Garmin now because of the flat fee purchase, but I used Telenav for about 6 months. Here is what I noticed:

Telenav/ATT superior features:
* map scale -- much easier to know when turns/streets are approaching
* voice quaility -- much easier to understand/pronounces streets better
* street names -- more of the street names are shown on top bar of map

Garmin superior features:
* interface - very simple; more user friendly
* interface - you can actually adjust the volume while navigating
* searching contacts - very fast (direct access) to your address book

One aspect that I HATE about Garmin is that it does not tell you the distance to your destination. That was a feature on Telenav that I really appreciated.

I agree with the poster just above me. I just demo'd both. I prefer the maps and layout on Telenav. I'm sticking with Telenav, at least for a while.

I have tried them both, have been using ATT Nav for quite some time. Best choice for me. I look at it from a App standpoint, not a money one. My .02

using my telenav in my home area no problem.
just returned from business trip to Alabama, rented a car one way it worked good. but on my last day going back to the air port telenav refused to work.
my opinion is if it not 100% good I can't relay on it.
at the moment I am searching for new solution.
