Default Blackberry + PayPal.com

Please Login to Remove!

Does PayPal.com work properly from a Blackberry for anyone here? I've tried logging in to my account from two Blackberrys, the 7250 and 7100t, and once I'm logged in its useless. I can't view any monetary value properly. Say I have a balance of $100.01, it will show up as ".01". It does this with payments as well. I can't see if I've gotten $10, or $50 as it just shows up ".00". So PayPal, is pretty much useless from my Blackberry.

Does everyone else have this problem? Is there some browser option I can change around that might fix this? Or a specific PayPal address to go to?

I've tried to contact PayPal about this but they never get back to me.

Thanks!

Does paypal offer wap-access? They do have a large amount of APIs to communicate with them, but its mostly developer access.

Google says:
http://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr...mobile-outside

Do not use the Internet Browser, use the WAP browser and going to paypal.com should work fine.

when I go to paypal.com from a Blackberry it has a special page that looks like its designed for use with the Blackberry so I'm guessing its the wap site. Its very minimal.

All I have on my 7250 is the Internet Browser though....I dont have a wap only browser.

Default I can't even log in to PayPal

After entering my password on PayPal's WAP site, I get an HTTP Error 500: Internal Server Error. Anyone else gotten this or know how to get around it?

In response to the other posts above, I have seen a couple other posts on other sites from folks who don't see the dollar amount (only cents), but no advice yet to fix it. If I could just get in I could try!

PayPal does have a short FAQ page for WAP access, but it is typically very uninformative.

Well for starters I would like to thank this thread for giving me the idea. I use PayPal regularly for receiving payments but I never thought of using it on my Blackberry, which would be very useful.

I was able to log in fine, but receive the same problem with only the decimal point showing. Seems to do it for everything. The balance, history, etc.

Maybe email PayPal about it? Looks like a glitch with their WAP version.

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry 7520: BlackBerry7520/4.0.2 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1)

x.Com use to be a light wap for doing paypal by phone. I can't do whois from here (anybody have a wap whois link sor me) but it still looks like a paypal site. I'd check it further before putting my info in for login

I have a 7290 with 4.0. and when I try to access the Paypal site it tells me "The requested page cannot be displayed". I am on a BES, but connected using the WAP Browser.

Has anyone tried setting browser to MSIE emulation? I know my baking site (BOA) wouldn't work until I did that.

x.com used to be a PayPal competitor before PayPal bought them out. So, yes, x.com is a legitimate PayPal site.

(You're right about doublechecking first. But I can vouch x.com is indeed actual PayPal property)

Interestingly, sometimes you have to disable HTML (use "WAP Only") to get certain WAP sites to work properly because they try to automatically detect for HTML before going to WAP...

you would think that a company as large as paypal would be able to set up their site to identify the blackberry browsers user agent string and load a blackberry compatible web page.

i tried this and every other setting i could think of to try on both of my 7100i and still no luck. the page will only show the cents and no dollar amounts.

i think it could be a problem on paypals end.

any other nextel users have any luck with paypal at all?

I get the:

HTTP Error 400 Bad Request
The server could not understand the page request, or was unable to process it for some reason. Please try loading a different page.

Anyone else with this problem? Or know of a work around?
