I guess "Locate Vendor.XML on your PC C: drive" is too complicated. C'mon.
We've only been suggeting this for about 2 years.

OK - on my PC, it is located in "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\Apploader"

Locate it and delete it.

Can you please explain the correct procedure to "delete" a file? This is all so terribly complicated...

locate the file using search if u want to do it that way, and then select the file, then delete the file like an other file. And now you are set to install 4.1 Is this what you are asking about ?

That is a different species of BlackBerrys and it will not work. The 7250 is a CDMA device and all the rest are GSM devices. Different versions.

Are you on a BES?

What do I do if I tried to load 4.1 and got a black and white garbled screen. I am trying to restore but do not know what else to do.

Can you all try this, please. Select a message (email) and click on Reply or Reply to All and see if the reply screen comes up with blank To: and Cc: fields, in addition to the users you are replying to. This is rather annoying, and I would think just a bug in the software, but wanting to make sure its not just me.

Just wondering if anyone had found a fix for this. It appears that I'm having the same problem on my 7100t. I've tried the unstill and reinstall and when I click on the icon everything seems to just freeze up for a couple of seconds and pocketday never starts. I'm considering going back to 4.0 just because of this, but I have heard that PD is working with the 8700's on 4.1

Ok. So I followed the instructions listed here, deleted the Vendor.XML file, downloaded the new OS and I toasted my damn device. So I just got done deleting everything on my PC that had to do with my Blackberry and reloaded the desktop manager and 4.0 software from Tmobiles website. Anyone have any ideas what went wrond here? I really want to try this again but feel like the little kid who didn't learn the first time he played with fire (and lit up his device). I have a 7100t and by toasted I mean the screen was just a mess of crap that was unreadable.

If you are getting a black and white garbled screen you need to uninstall any themes that you installed in application loader as 4.0 themes do not work on 4.1.

How do I reinstall the OS because I did what BluePolaski did. Also, can I not use VeriChat?

I had to go into my PC and remove the programs for Desktop Manager and The handheld software for the device version 4.0. I also deleted everything I downloaded for 4.1. Then I went back to Tmobiles website and redownloaded the Desktop Manager software as well as the handheld software. Then I hooked the device back up and ran the application loader and made sure that everything was there (when I tried to just run a back up and looked in the application loader there was nothing there but themes).

That is what I did to get back to where I was before I smeared my device.

Ok. So this is getting me. Someone let me know if I have this right...

1) Go in and delete the Vendor.XML file in the C: drive.

2) Download the new OS 4.1.

3) Go into application loader and remove ALL themes (or do I do this before I download 4.1?)
