i have a blackberry curve 8520. i have 4.6 on it and am trying to put 5.0 on it. please anyone can help step by step. i am running desktop manager 6.0. do i need 5.0 instead.

I repeat: How are you trying to install? Automatically with desktop manager over the internet? Or did you download and install the OS from your carrier? Or from another carrier? What?

Do a search. Strictly speaking a data plan is required to upgrade to 5. There is a work around that you will find when you search.

You may not need a data plan, but you will not upgrade to OS 5 without one unless you find the work around instruction and follow it.
