Nextel is telling me the best version for my device is 4.1 not to load 4.2 that its buggy. It won't open up 4.1 as a compressed zip file , just shows error on clicking it. Not a vaild win 32 application is the error I get when I extract the files for the desktop.

Please don't give Nextel the OK on this one. I ask for tier 2 out the gate and sometimes feel like I know more than the person answering the call. Many times I do. I have had 5 total 7100i's ( don't ask why, ) The software is buggy but you do need the latest version.

FYI, if you have Signal insurance... check the fine print. I called because my phone would not charge. That was the truth. After a taped interrogation by the rep as to me dropping the phone, no...water damage..no, heat, light, kids, aliens etc my answers were still no. They then told me NO CAN HELP YA! My policy covers DAMAGE, not every day wear and tear! They said non-charging is everyday wear and tear. If you want a replacement phone, make sure you "broke" it.

I did get a replacement!

i think there's a confusion here, device software isn't the same as desktop software.

In your first post you ask about desktop software, the one that you install in your PC, from your post the nextel rep is talking about device software and yes, the latest versión for the 71xx series is 4.1.

if you download the desktop software v4.1 or v4.2 you will be able to sync with outlook 2003, if you upgrade to outlook 2007 then you'll need v4.2

so in other words, download the desktop software (4.1 o 4.2) from the link and you'll be able to sync with outlook

I got it to work, I was told by my local rep to download 4.1 for outlook 2003 it works great no issues thanks for the link. I got the phone software upgrade at the store I purchased it from preloaded.

Now is there a way to log on to a yahoo account and select a bunch of contacts and email them all a once? Any body tried this? Last time I tryed it the BB won't accept pop up windows to pick my contacts from. Is there a mobile version of yahoo mail that I can run this threw?

I am also looking for a word, excel type program for transfering these docs to my blackberry.

Andresaun, download the OS from the carrier website to your PC. Use Desktop Manager, click on Application Loader, find your OS download, follow the directions.

Make sure you BACKUP your BB first, using the Backup feature in Desktop Manager.
