So I was on gmail and I saw an e-mail come into my account. At that time I deleted it right away as spam, and didnt think anything of it. Well my phone read it at the exact time I deleted it and deleted the message itself out of my phone. Problem now is, I was never able to "read" that one e-mail. The "you have 1 new e-mail" icon is stuck up at the top left, notifing me that there is an unread e-mail, which has since been deleted off my phone.

I have tried shutting down, restarting, and even a hard reset - nothing has worked. I have tried going into the e-mails and highlighting everything, then marking as 'read.' This has also failed.

Any idea how to get this icon off my screen, so it can display the correct number of e-mail awaiting my attention?

Have you done a search in the Message folder for "unopened only" messages? It might show something up...

Connect your BB to computer
Start Desktop manager > Go to back up and restore> advance> take a back up of message list > remove messages > icon will be removed.
