You try plugging it in to the DM? Don't you have a backup file of your BB?

If you don't have a back up, you have probably lost them. The error means that some of your applications are corrupt and you must reload the device.

Try a battery pull and see if that works. But I think you will need to wipe and reload the OS to fix it.

If you are on BES, you can wipe the device/ reload the OS from the DM and the BES will reload all of your data (including the PINS) via Enterprise activation. The only thing you may not get might be the username /passwords you use to logon to certain apps, like WLM and Google chat, but often, they do reappear after an Enterprise re-activation. Do you know how to perform an Enterprise activation from the DM? I can explain if not....

Steve, you're a life safer!!

I don't GAS about passwords etc....prob is those pins were saved on my device locally. Do you think they were backed up on my BES server remotely?

Unfortunately I can't even get to my pc/ DM software til Monday nite. But once I plug in what are next steps?

Thank you x100!

I will try to answer all your questions -

1) If the PINS were entered into either your contacts/ notes/ added as BBM contacts, or appear in say, the notes field in your contacts, yes, unless your BES admin has the wireless remote backup feature turned off, which I would doubt, as the whole point of the BES is to have wireless sync at all times, with auto backup. The backup updates frequently during the day, so yes, all the data you had on your device over a few hours old, should be in the wireless backup on your BES. The BES backs up all of your data in all of the native BB/RIM apps continuously. Non RIM app data does not get backed up. How were your pins entered in the device, in which app?

2) Before you wipe the device, connect to your DM and if you get a valid connection, simply backup the device BEFORE you wipe. If not, speak to your BESadmin and see that they do indeed have remote wireless backup on - it is by default in any case.

3) Upon a device OS wipe, you just have to re-install the OS through the DM, then setup your mail profile in the DM. Once the mail profile is setup, you should see your BB mail options already there, like your signature etc...

Now, with the device OS re-installed and the device still connected, the DM will automatically start the Enterprise activation within a few minutes after your mail profile has been setup, since it's now communicating with your BES and see's the device as having been previously active on the BES.

It's that simple - so just remember to keep the device connected to the PC from the time you wipe until the Enterprise activation has been completed. That's the easiest way to get it up and running - restoring all of your data. There are other ways to activate (wireless), but this one doesn't require your BESadmin's involvement.

Let me know here how this turns out, and if you get stuck, send me a PM and I'll help you out.

So all I need to do is plug in my device to my PC (will it worth on my MAC?) and load DM and then backup if possible and wipe? That's not too hard.

This goes to show that there are so many problems with the new 9900 and OS 7. I don't even have that many apps!

Wikitude
Slacker Radio
Google Maps
Whatsapp

That's about it.

I have no experience with Mac's but I believe that RIM has a DM for Mac. It would be the same thing as Windows. The BES does not reload more than a few e-mails...depending on how it was setup, so if your PINS were through e-mail...you may not see them all. Do you use an e-mail account that you can access aside from your BB? Have you considered accessing it there to retrieve your e-mail?

Your issue could just as easily have occurred on OS6 or OS5. I don't think this is particular to the 9900 or OS7. I have seen these issues before on other RIM devices. You just had some bad luck.
