Default cases: leather, hard rubberized cases?

Please Login to Remove!

Hello All,

I am trying to decide which case to get for my Bold.

There are three types I am debating between. The leather case with vertical flap(no clip), hard case with a rubberized coating, or the silicon case.

While I like the leather case that came with my Bold, I don't like the clip on it. Is it possible to remove it? Also, the cover/flap doesn't cover enough of the top edges for my liking.

Here are my likes and dislikes:

Leather case option:
-nice looking
-protects keys, screen, phone
-cost(can be quite expensive)
-bulk(I carry it in my pocket, so a leather case may add extra size) Are there any leather cases that are slim, but provide a bit of protection?

Hard case w/rubberized option
-decent looking
-slim design
-protects phone, edges
-cheap
-requires screen protector applied to screen(cheap cost)
-does not protect keys
-not sure if it can survive an impact(has anyone had the misfortune of testing this scenario out?)
-does it come out easily of one's pocket?(I mostly store phone in my pocket)

Silicon cover option
-slim design
-protects phone edges
-inexpensive
-requires screen protector
-does not cover keys
-not easy to take out of pocket
-attracts lint(? not sure about this?)

Any thoughts?

Thanks,
boldover

silicon case definetly attracts lint..dust and whatever particles are in ur pocket and will mostly likely scratch ur phone. if i were you, i would get the invisible shield..covers whole phone and no bulky case

I have used the leather cases on my Pearl for 2 yrs, and now on my Bold. The phone slides in and is totally protected. I keep the phone in my pocket. I really like the slide in cases and bought both on the Blackberry site. Also, the case has a magnet inside that turns it off as you slide it back in, automatically.
Good luck with your decision.

Anyone know if the invisi-shield allows you to use the belt holster?

If you are just looking for something thing to keep it protected in your pocket, get a skin, or if you like leather something like this leather pouch.

I can vouch for Seidio cases. Well the spring clip holster at least. I love that it has the magnet to utilize the sleeper function, and I also like the face-in option so it protects the screen. Right now I have a BSE on it and the seido holster, I am very happy. Try searching Atomicmall.com. I got my holster for $13.99 as opposed to the $29.99 charged by almost everywhere else.
