Default Storm Problems! Help...

Please Login to Remove!

Hi Guys,

I received my storm in late November. It has been problem free aside from the battery up until now.

The two games Word Mole and Brick Breaker are appearing horizontally as oppose to vertically. No matter which way I hold it, this is what is happening and I can't play the games anymore as I cannot see the whole screen.

Also, on more than one occasion during texting the camera came up. I definitely did not press the camera button.

Is anyone else experiencing problems similar to this?

Thanks,
Sarah.

No problem like that on my end. I have had a couple issues with typing and bringing up other programs, but its pretty sporadic.

You might try wiping the phone and reloading the OS or take it back to VZW and see if they will swap your device since its new.

Did you really just tell him to swap it because of this "issue"? REALLY?!?!?
There is NO WAY possible that what he just described is a hardware problem. This really needs to stop. I can't WAIT until Verizon finally starts laughing at all you people that expect to get 2, 3, 4 new Storms every time you find something that doesn't work the way you think it should.

That's why I said to wipe the phone first. Its a worst case option, but with Verizon's no worry guarantee they will swap almost anything.

So you can stop being a D***.

First off, I am a SHE lol.

I am going to go to Vodafone this week, I don't want to switch to another storm that could be even worse! I was thinking maybe downgrade to a Bold but I know nothing of this phone!

How do I wipe my storm?

Try searching the forums on how to wipe your Storm, there are plenty of threads about how to do it I'm sure.

I think what you need is a gaming device something pretty like an
iphone. there you can play all day. however if you need a professional device keep your storm nothing comes close to this device IMO.

Sarah,

I had the same camera issue with my Storm at first. Heres a couple things to try.

1.) Change the "Convenience keys" to anything you use other than the camera.

From the menu screen follow this;
Options--> Screen/Keyboard

Scroll down and find the "Right/Left Side Convenience Key Opens"

I have mine set to Music and Browser.

2.) Be sure that you are using the most recent approved OS from Vodafone

From the menu screen follow this;

Options --> Advanced Options --> Wireless Upgrade

If you got it recently its probably up to date. But it doesn't hurt to check.

3.) When/if the camera thing happens again, Forcefully (but not enough to sprain your wrist) turn the phone into the opposing position. e.g. if you were in portrait, to to vertical, and vice versa.

Then hit either of the Convenience keys and press the screen.

Not a sure fix but it got me through till i figured out to change the convenience keys.

As far as the games go i haven't had that issue. sorry.

Good luck.

I had the same problem with hitting the camera keys so I also just totally disabled those not-so-convenient keys because I always hit them at the wrong moment.
Also, my games never played in the landscape mode, were they supposed to?
The other issue I had for the first week or so was hitting the lock key because I initially didn't know where to hold the phone but after about a week I finally got it. Give it some time, it's a great device.
