Default Manufacturers and Cases

im sure its been posted already, but this is my turn, it just happened to me.

for the (THIRD!) year in a row my brand new phone i bought is cosmetically damaged before i received my case.

its not bad, but there is a chunk out of the silver part, front top left right above the headphone jack.

the worst part is this time i dont even know how it happened. i never dropped it, or i dont remember... man this sucks, the case will be here in two days. every phone ive bought ive at least scratched it bad while i was waiting for the case.

if these manufacturers can make such nice bodies and designs of these phones, why cant they include a nice form-fitting case? i hate pouch cases.

It seems that the trend is not to include cases anymore. The past few phones I purchased were without cases in the box. I guess the manufacturers could be thinking why include a case for free, when you can sell one separately and make more money. Personally, I think the cases that did come with the phones were always low quality, and I always went and purchased after-market cases anyway.

It might only cost them .25 cents to include a case but when you add that up times a few million, it starts to add up. I don't really mind not getting a case. The 8700 came with the worse case known to mankind and I think all but a few were instantly chucked in the trash

Maybe next time, you should buy the case first than when you receive it buy the phone.

well that would be logical. although, its hard to pay $30 for a case before you buy a phone you dont even know youre going to like.

oh well at least the case will cover up the gouge on the phone. still it will probably knock off a little on my ebay auction when it comes time to sell:rolleyes:
