Cool Hey I just got my new BB 8100.... now time for mods

Please Login to Remove!

Well this is actually my brother's sn and he has had his BB 8100 for over 5 months now... I always liked how it looked and now that im a Real Estate Assistant I needed a new phone so I went ahead and got the 8100...
I love the phone as is but!! as like my car I love modding things out so I need help and advise from you guys that know what I can and cant do to the BB...
Well I already put songs in it (3) and it sounds soooo low.. I know that when I take the back piece off it sounds alot louder... Then my bro told me that you guys had a thread about making holes in the rear by the camera but the back piece can break or something? And I feel EVEN if I did do that... It still would not be as loud as I would like. Is there any way I can make it sound louder? Maybe there's something I havent messed with yet that makes it louder? Is there any way or mod out there that can make me put a bigger speaker on there or enhance the one I already have? Also I seen that there is a bigger battery out there with a rear cover that already comes with a speaker hole built in. Can anyone give me a link to that site? And also I want to put more songs and even videos but im sure I need a memory card. Anyone know what kinda of card I can get for my BB.... Any other help or mods I dont know if please let me know... and I love my BB 8100

Oh yeah... one more.. Will a JawBone Headset work with my BB 8100? Im really looking into one but wont buy it if it does not work with it.... thanks

Depends on the size of the song / video... You can never go wrong with a 2GB card to hold all the stuff you want.... The device memory is limited, you might be able to get a few songs and a small video on it but then you are maxed out....

Here is a link to the Current SD Card Deals thread

http://www.blackberryforums.com/gene...ent-deals.html

The advantages are: You can store more songs, videos, and photos.... The device memory is VERY limited....

Speaker is for phone calls. Headphones are for music/video.

Anyone found decent 2.5 mm headphones? no, all the good ones, shure, westone, bose - if you count them, ultimate ears are standard 1/8th inch or 3.5 mm for you metrics. I dont' want a bulky adapter to put a right angle on my phone and be sticking out of my holder.

any thoughts?

I know you can up the sound in a video file when you are encoding it using Mencoder. Maybe there is something that can edit and up the volume of an mp3. I was scared I was going to blow the speaker with some music videos I upped the sound in. So I just leave it alone and use the headphones.

Soundforge is audio editing software. I think he's trying to say that you can crank up the volume of the mp3 itself with this software and save it so it plays louder when you play it.

As far as videos go. The easiest way is the free Blackberry Video Converter.

Here is a link to the video encoding thread in this forum:

http://www.blackberryforums.com/gene...t=baconismydog

It shows a way to do it in dos with mencoder, and it shows how to do it using super c, and if you look towards the end of the thread you can find a link for the blackberry video encoder by a guy named baconismydog.

Have you tried changing the settings in the profile you use? I think default is medium volume level. Menu>Profiles>Advanced...> then click on the profile you use. Click on phone and change the volume to High.
