Default Camera locks phone up 8310

Please Login to Remove!

My camera will lock my phone up every time I use it. I have 4.5.0.110. The video camera works fine, but still photos lock my phone dead and I have to do a battery pull. I can not send my videos either all though they save on my SD Card. Any ideas?

It did this before the upgrade sometimes as well. I do not think it was the OS upgrade.

I would doing a battery pull for some more times.. it still it does not, then you may want to wipe the device using JL_Cmdr and then reinstall the OS.

I had issues with my curve after an os upgrade. I know that if you have media on the card that was formatted on a prior os, it can cause crashes/freezes. I reformatted my media card and it's been smooth sailing ever since. I'm sure if you search the forum you will find a better explanation(sorry, I can't remember where I found the info) good luck

You go into Options > Media Card > Options Key
Then "Format Card"

But before you do that, copy whatever you have on the card to your PC.

But before you do that, take the card out, change the camera to save on the device if necessary and see if you can take a picture that way. Then you'll know if the card is causing the problem or something else. It still may be a good idea to format the card, but if the camera freezes while trying to save to memory, you've got a different problem.

You don't have to enable encryption, I ran into issue with the video recorder and media card encryption on a prevous OS version, 4.3
