Default 8310/AT&T/4.5.0.81 OS - GPS Working???

Please Login to Remove!

Has anyone got this combination and has the GPS working? If so, please get in touch with me.

I've tried everything (apparently not!) and I cannot get a GPS signal. Does this have anything to do with the fact that I have an "unsupported" OS on my BB?

Thanks all.

GPS working fine for me on ATT with the 4.5 OS. I use AmazeGPS and Google Maps with it. I do not use that rip off mapping service they sell so can not comment on that.

Damn. My Google Maps doesn't work, nor does the Geotagging on the camera. I have a full blown data plan too. I do not have the TeleNav service, but I shouldn't have to to get the GPS on Google Maps. I have the newest version (2.3.2) of Google Maps too.

Well, the obvious question is did you check recently to make sure the GPS is still enabled (think the upgrade turns it back off)? Did you try the GPS while out doors with a clear view of the sky, esply to the south AND give it time to find the satellites? If you do a GPS refresh while out there, what happens?

Yes and yes... it just says "Scanning for Satellites" then eventually comes up with all zeroes.

What is the data source? Options> Advanced Options> GPS> GPS Data Source

Set for Device GPS? or for an external device?

I just tried it on my 8310 with Google maps app and it worked just fine. Sorry I don't know how to help you, but it does work on AT&T with OS 4.5.0.81 (108).

Device GPS.

IBGPN - thanks for the confirmation, I wanted to rule out the combination being the issue (device, carrier, OS)

Have you tried taking Google Maps off and re installing it? I had to do that when I updated mine to the new OS.

Actually I just installed the new version. Also, it won't pick up the GPS on my pictures (Geotagging). In the advanced options --> GPS I can't even get it to pick up a satellite. So to compare, I switched it to an external GPS and it failed, then back to Device GPS and it just searches and never finds anything.

Maybe my GPS is hosed?

Yea mine has issues sometimes too, but I usually just pull the battery out and restart it and it starts working again. Sometimes it will correct itself on its own without having to pull the battery out. I thought too maybe it was software related. Maybe not?? I waiting to see if 4.5.102 becomes official and maybe the problem will be solved.
