Default 4.5.0.77 but no html email

Please Login to Remove!

I upgraded my os yesterday on my 8330 through the Verizon link and followed their instructions. Upgrade went fine, but still no html email. Have tried going to Messages -> Email Settings, but no option to enable html. Tried pulling the battery. no luck. Then I realized that I did not remove the vendor.xml before upgrading the phone.

Is there a way to enable the html email at this point?

TIA

Drew

Wirelessly posted (Verizon 8830)

make sure downloaded to handheld without vendor.xml

Then you need to resend your service books.

I think you only need to delete the vendor.xml file if the OS on your phone isn't from the same carrier you are downloading the new OS from.

I didn't delete the vendor.xml file and everything went fine.

You might try resending the books, that is what I had to do.

To the OP, if you used the Verizon OS release, then it wasn't necessary to delete the vendor.xml file.

You might have to send your service books a couple of times before the HTML email is on your phone. Then you need to go to Email Settings and enable HTML email for each email account on your phone.

Thanks to all for responding. Worked like a charm once I resent the service books.

Yeah I did not know who the carrier was on wap. The vendor.xml is like an appendix in your body anyway. Yes, if is your carrier, no need to delete as the others have mentioned

We are on a BES and our admin said that only company email would be html and not 3rd party email like gmail. Is this true?

BES email will be HTML if the are running 4.1.6 or higher. If your BES admin allows BIS email on the device, they will be HTML as well.

upgraded to 4.5.0.81 (Rogers) on my AT&T 8310 and I lost my html emails. Tried re-sending service books and my vendor.xml is already gone. Any ideas?
