Loved my nextel phones... The simple ability to customize them and the fact they were what a cell phone should always be, capable of taking a beating.
I started with a r370 and quickly moved to a i1000 and last device I had was the 7100i. I did have most of the later fun devices such as the i930 and i870 to play with, but ever since the 7510 I've been a BB user.
Too bad Sprint killed them so quickly, I really enjoyed service and customer support from them until the merger.
I also have been with Nextel since the beginning. I will never give up until either a new Nextel BB comes out or Nextel dies all together. You would have to pry my Nextel BB out of my dead hands before I give up completely. lol

Said the same thing till the 8320 came out. Really the only reason I was hanging on was the fact I was grandfathered in on the 150 a month unlimited use period plan. That with the corporate discount came to $127... Not bad and I really need those minutes as I can use as many as 6800 in a month (current record).
UMA helps me offset those calls, along with myFaves and GrandCentral.
No new. Blackberry for nextel but "nextel directconnect" should be avaliable on cdma(sprint) blackberry's *supposedably* by the end of this year. Will be able to communicate with nextel via ptt. Best of both worlds cdma data and ptt.
what is your source for this info, we have all seen the rumors about QChat on sprint coming Q1 of 2008 but has anyone seen any recent concrete evidence of this to confirm? also, i see that the BB Pearl will be released with EVDO Rev.0 but QChat will be running on Rev. A. Is the upgrade to A from 0 a software thing or hardware? I am really interested in the pearl but still dont want to give up my DC.
First, there is an article in phone scoop July 23,2007 in which sprint announced the first cdma-iden ptt call, cross network. It will be over rev-a if anyone has noticed theyve change the branding Qchat will be known as "nextel direct connect" I have seen some versions of the 8830 that in the programing menu for the button that is now by default voicedial. It has ptt in the menu. I also due sprint/nextel (indirect) and have many many biz and public sector customers that have been waitting for a real upgrade to the 7520. Which when the 7100i was released many (majority) people viewd it as a downgrade and went right back. I have also been waitting for this both for myself and customers. I came from nextel before the "merger" and also experienced the "crapping out" as somebody put it. There has been multiple cell sites added for iden and with the introduction of the hybrids alot of bandwith has been freed up, service/coverage has gotten better.I also have an i880 it definetly has improved I'd say the last 6-9 mths
