Default Calander will not sync to outlook

Please Login to Remove!

I've had my storm for a little over a year. I'm just coming off of BES and now have to manually sync my data from my Storm to Outlook via the desk top manager.

Contacts and Memo pad sync just fine.

I did have appointments in out look and on my phone. I now only have appointments on my phone. I've reset the configuration a couple of times; tried syncing one way from my phone to outlook, tried syncing both ways. Tried syncing calander along with contacts and memopad and just the calander. I can not get the appointments from my phone to outlook??? Any ideas?

I am using Outlook 2007, XP, Storm latest update as of 12/7/2009 and desk top manager 5.0.1.

I'm also open to a third party sync software if anyone has any input...I'm not real thrilled with the length of time it takes to sync my device.......Yeah...I know everything is down hill once you leave BES.

Thanks for your thoghts or ideas.
PS I did a search first and did not find my specific issue.

Does sync crash or give any error message, or just skip right over the calendar?

There's a button in desktop manager that opens the sync log. What does the last entry say?

Will backup run and complete succesfully?

Some more thoughts:

When you checked your settings in desktop manager, did you check the one for days past and days future to sync?

If you change the calendar view in Outlook to spreadsheet format of rows and columns, do you see any empty rows? Any funny characters? Anything else odd? Delete any empty rows, edit out any oddball data, etc. and then try to sync.

Lastly, if you still haven't solved the problem, consider using the advanced backup/restore in desktop manager to delete the calendar database on the blackberry and then re-sync.

Ok. On the blackberry, open options > advanced options > default services ...

Make sure the CICAL address is same as the CMIME address. Make sure it is not set to Desktop or Facebook or some, but set to your default messaging address. Save. Try again.

I had the same problem w/ my Curve when f/b did an upgrade 6+ months ago. I only got aggressive w/ the issue 'cause it happened more than once. So I found the best way is to not only delete the f/b ical service book, but also to turn off auto upgrade for f/b and not enroll in the calendar f/b service. What an annoying prob. I just set-up my new storm2 and that was the 1st thing I addressed. I'm not usually so anal -lol

BTW - aiharkness great follow-up! I love this forum!
