Upon searching, I saw a lot of content about deleting voice dialing but nothing about Voice Notes Recorder. Can I delete it?

So I've been messing around with the new OS for a few hours, a little sluggish which is upsetting, but pretty interesting. On my device I've noticed a *tremendous* increase/improvement in audio/volume for the ringtone as well as media in general. Other than that, I don't have much to say right now...

Finally took the 4.5 plunge for my Sprint 8830. Install went smoothly (I deleted vendors.xml).

I was interested to find that the default theme that it installed was called Sprint. Is this a coincidence?

So far, the biggest problem I've had is with creating folders for my apps. As others have reported, there is now only one folder icon (yellow in the Today Plus theme I'm using). Not that it matters, since the folders disappear on a reboot and any icons within the folder will reappear at the top level. Also, any sorting I've done is undone.

YouTube works. Well, 50% of the time. It either works well or it tells me that the video is in an incorrect format.

I got HTML mail working (thanks to the post I found here). However, only some of the graphics will appear when i select "Get Picture" or "Get All Pictures." Maybe not even half, since I've only had one e-mail thus far that'll get ANY pictures (it was only half within that particular e-mail).

The E-Trade application doesn't appear to work. It starts, checks for updates, and then dies.

Voice memos works well. Glad to have this back, after I left my Palm-based device which had this feature.

I don't particularly care for the look of the messages application. While HTML mail is great, I likely the cleaner look of the old app, without all the boxes. Ditto on Calendar, Tasks, and Contacts. For Calendar, the new day view looks nice, although I can now see less on a screen. Same for the agenda view.

I had to change my fonts in PocketDay, since the ones I had don't look nice any more.

Every time I reboot, it asks me if I want to let the device auto-select CDMA and GSM. Used to be that I set this once and it didn't ask me again.

In the 3 hours that I put my device through its paces, I did have a a half dozen lockups or error messages.

I haven't really tried voice calls, but my one quick test (calling my office phone) suggested that sound quality/volume might be an issue.

While sound is fine in the media player, my phone's ring somehow sounds tinny. Maybe my imagination.

Haven't yet installed DocumentsToGo. Will try that today.

Noticed a few new configuration options, the multiple calendars, and the OTA update feature (says there are none).

The new browser isn't great, but it's better (and much faster) than the old one. I've had several issues with it, however. The most significant being that it sometimes removed 90% of the menu items, including GoTo and Bookmarks. I have to select "Close" and then restart from the apps screen to get them back. I suspect it's gone into a special mode that's used for displaying a specific page.

Web sites (like the BB mobile site) that check which device I'm using complain because they don't know about 4.5. Which means no downloading themes.

I think the new column vs. page mode option is quirky.

If anyone who has upgraded to this os could chime in on increased volume, it would be great. Especially as it relates to ring tone volume.

Squeff,
The page view and column view is a bit quirky. When the screen gets small, I want to manuever as I would in Opera but don't have that benefit.

Wirelessly posted (Verizon 8830)

My ringer is inferior.

Can I delete the Zen theme and just keep the L Theme?

I do not have a lot of memory to work with from this upgrade.
