You can't put 8830 os on an 8800..they seem like 2 totaly different devices. what does everyone think. sucks having threads that pertain to a different device.

Well the 8703e 8700 8707 and 8705 can't have their OSes interchanged, so lets break those up too. Oh and 7230, 7250, 7280, 7290, 7510, and 7520 can't either. And 7100, 7105, 7130, and 7130e are screwed too. So now we have more than a dozen forums...is that really less complicated?

I think it would be a bad idea, and a waste of effort to put the 8830 into its own forum. I can't think of 1 valid reason to do such a thing.

yeah the 8830 and 8800 are in the same family and function pretty much the same... regardless of OS interchangeability.

I actually thought the same thing since almost every post concerns the 8830. But as mentioned, since they are the same in a lot of respects, I can understand grouping them together....though I wish it could be otherwise on occasion.

I don't think we'll be creating separate forums for the 8830 and 8800. As posted above they are the same family of device with the only difference being CDMA vs. GSM.
