So now that we're about a full 2 weeks into the 8300 Curve release, I figured I'd start a thread on who's going to keep it? As a lot of you know I'm into my 6th unit, and although I luv the form factor I'm on the fence about having it for keeps at this point. I feel RIM will definitely fix any issues the device has as far as build quality goes, but it's going to take a little while. Anyway I'm curious to know how many of you are willing to overlook any issues your device may have (if any at all) and just call it a day and keep it!

I've had the 7290, 8700, Pearl, and now the Curve. Best overall blackberry so far. Only issues have been slightly loose section under volume keys and the calendar reminder thing. Typing and form factor is awesome. Great phone. Good media. Batt life getting better everyday. I'm keeping it!

not sure....I mean I was able to fix the squeaks by dropping it, and I have not had any issues (sw, static) besided the quality build issues....so... it is tempting to return it and get the iphone instead once it comes out...(I have until the 31st of June to return the curve, the iphone will be available as of the 29th) but then again, we should all learn from this experience, being an early adopter has never really paid off in my case, only God knows what bugs the iphone will come out with...nah, I guess at the end I might keep the Curve, and as said before in this forum, should something happen to my beloved curve, I can alway fall back on my 8700c which I bought as a back-up device. But yeah, RIM, I hope you are reading these threads closely, you've got to do something about the build quality of your new phones.

It's definately a keeper. I had an 8800 for a short while...and much prefered the Curve for many reasons, most of which has already been stated. I have no build-quality issues to speak of, and with the addition of the BB Smart application to make email display more of a pleasure, my one issue with the phone (crappy email display) has been cured!!

I am a happy camper. In fact, I can't remember when I have been more satisfied with a mobile device...

returned mine yesterday ! liked the curve and media features but i missed my trackwheel vs. trackball . could not adjust nor did i really want to. overall , i like my 8700 too much .

I just picked up the Nokia E61i (camera) and it's awesome. Heavy, but the build quallity is the best I've ever seen. And it does it all. Email, web, music, WiFi, Bluetooth, camera that shoots stills + video, and on and on. Symbian s60 3rd edition is fast and stable. Plus there are a ton of aftermarket apps available. For someone like me that's using a Blackberry for personal use on BIS, no corporate connection, the best features of the Blackberry don't get used. So the E61i is a better fit for me.

I'm keeping mine....But I'm having a hardtime adjusting to the small keys.... I had a pearl before and I could type WAY faster then i can on my 8300 because the keys were bigger....wiith the 8300 i keep hitting the wrong keys....i hope this wil improve as time goes on.

I'm keeping mine.. best I had.. wish it had video.. sheesh, every other phone does.. make it really practical.. A picture is worth a 1000 words,and video fills in all the spaces..

I am keeping mine as well. I love everything about the Curve. The small keys took some adjustment on my part. There is also a tiny tiny amount of play with the plastic piece that houses the mic.

Everyone here has been saying that Rim will eventually fix these glitches that Curve, or any other new handset, has. But, do you know how long it usually takes for Rim to fix their production quality and start producing consistently stable handsets?

what's this BB smart application? can you pls elaborate?

i'm currently a Pearl user and debating if i want to pick up a Curve.
