Exclamation Qustion for the Curve.

Please Login to Remove!

I want to get a new Curve (I have one right now). Love the phone and really just want a new one because of cosmetic stratches and dings.

But if I were to take my old Curve and back it up on my computer...could I then load that file onto my new Curve. Therefore having basically the same phone internally and just getting a new outter shell look?

I basically want to do it this way because of all the errors in the address book that happens when I move my contracts from SIM to the phone. I hate re-doing every contact again.

Yes, you could do that. I would use the switch device wizard as it will copy all of your data/settings and 3rd party apps from one device to the other. The backup that you normally take does not touch 3rd party apps.

Thanks, and what are these 3rd party apps you are referring to?

And I assume I would do this all under my Desktop Manager, correct?

..Thanks again.

They could be anything from themes to games. Any application that didn't come on your device when you purchased it.

Understood. I think the only thing I have left on my phone after I went through the applications was the few manditory apps as well as brickbreaker, AIM, and facebook. But those could all be easily replaced.

Thanks!

In that case, backup the old device and restore to the new device. There are certainly no issues doing it that way.

Wirelessly posted (8320 Titanium)

If its just scratches you want to get rid of, you could just buy a new housing and not have to deal with the backup/restore process or buying a new bb

I was going get a new case for my Curve, but I found it would cost me less to get a new phone from AT&T. I am not sure what I am going to do because my BB was been rock solid!
