The CB User that posted that he had it working on AT&T has now run into trouble. He did the device switch wizard and lost his service books and now since AT&T doesn't support the 9530 he can't get the service books for his browser, MMS and stuff. So... not truely working on AT&T in my opinion.

That seems to be a problem. No...ATT does not have service books for the Storm.

I am perfectly happy with EDGE, I don't care about streaming media, etc.

My email gets to me just as fast on EDGE as 3G

Can't we use the same method like we did with the Bold? Just use CrackUtil, load the missing service books, then log into your BIS to transfer the e-mail ones over. We just need a user to grab the basic AT&T service book IPD file and your all set.

I don't know about you guys, but looks doubtful to me... I could understand that most of you are having wishful thinking, trying to believe that you can stick your AT&T or T-mobile SIMs into the VZW Storm...
Well, he is most likely a VZW customer (he got the unlock code right away and only VZW customers have that ability). Logged into his VZW BIS, registered it so he would receive email, unlocked it, then used a pre-paid AT&T SIM to test the unlock on a U.S. carrier. Makes perfect sense to me.

And it's already demonstrated that it can be done. It isn't wishful thinking, it's possible. Three moderators here have already confirmed it, there are photos of VZW Storms on EDGE on a different network, yet you still think it's "wishful thinking"...

+1. I have been with T-Mo forever so I don't even know what 3G would feel like...

Last I heard you will still need the service books to get any data. So until this is solved it will only be a phone and no data or email.

I bought my Storm on Tuesday. Unlocked it the same day. Email, sms and BIS work great. My only issue is MMS. Anyone find a fix for that yet?

Thanks for all the great tips btw on how to unlock the phone. One phone call, and it was done.
I think the EDGE speeds with the browser on ATT are great not too bad.

My email, and everythings works just fine, the only thing is the browser and the navigator, it says i dont have the service books entries. Also, on top says "Activation Required". What should i do?
