I have tested a SIM on a number or Storms today. They are SIM locked. There are probly some out there but the majority are locked.

If there is any truth to it, he may have gotten an unlock code from Verizon. These come locked on Verizon, and thats that.

edge means there is no connection to RIM's servers (which EDGE denotes). BBM won't work and websites won't work either, in my experience. I have noticed that JiveTalk will sometimes will work just fine if I get stuck on edge.

It appears to have played out like I have been saying for a few months. A simple SIM unlock and you are good to go on a GSM carrier. This is great news.

Yes. In one of the crackberry thread, the person did in fact state that it was a pre-paid AT&T sim, and you need a BB data plan.

even with non-PrePaid sims, if a BB Data plan isn't on the account, you get lower case edge...

....if they were legit pics, will someone please explain the presence of (2) Y! messages on one of the pics and on another pic, icon of 7 new email messages and 1 SMS??? . . . all this while using a pre-paid AT&T SIM??? . . on edge??? . . .

I don't know about you guys, but looks doubtful to me... I could understand that most of you are having wishful thinking, trying to believe that you can stick your AT&T or T-mobile SIMs into the VZW Storm...
