Default Bold on O2

Please Login to Remove!

Anyone got any clues as to when they will be releasing it - currently Orange and Vodaphone are the only ones promoting the bold.

I so, so want one

Wirelessly posted

We do lol

I'm getting mine sim free from Misco though as I'm not keen on long contracts (might sell it later to get the Javelin).

If I were you I would maybe grab the o2 Blue Magazine on Monday morning as there could possibly be more details and maybe prices in there.

O2 and Rim are having Bold launch events across the UK starting on Monday. No official date has been set yet but I understand O2 are finalizing the nuts and bolts of the implementation of the product. It would also appear that OS 4.5.0.XX will be available around the same time.

Really??? Cos someone told me today that o2 were delaying until October. I didn't want to post this and start a rumour.

This is much better news

This wouldn't surprise me in the least as I heard today that the launch events have been put back a week. Still, as I said on another thread, as long as they get it right then I'll be happy.

I spoke with O2 yesterday - the bold is showing as in stock on their system, but has no product code associated to it, or stock numbers.

I'm a business user, so the guy is supposed to be ringing me on Monday as the only time he see's this kind of thing is when the stock is being uploaded to the system.

He also thinks it will be available soon, as it is not on his 'forthcoming phone release list' either.

Fingers crossed

Owwwwwww - just got this from O2 SMB when trying to put in a pre-order of 5 Bolds.

"Due to compatibility and software testing with the O2 network the launch of the BlackBerry Bold has been postponed to October although we donxxx8217;t have a definite date and this is subject to change."

If CPW have sim-free handsets tomorrow; I'm going to pick one up for "beta testing"!!

Just had a call back from O2 - due to overdemand, the launch of the bold has been put back indefinitely.

Will not be available in September, and I should call back in october for an update

Got my "beta test" Bold from CarphoneWarehouse for a shocking £380. The screen is amazing! Not sure I like the 70's SLR back to it!

I've just ordered one from CPW for £349 with free shipping. Should fill the gap before Jav appears.

I've got a pretty old sim (says 32k on it), and the Bold fired up straight away with O2 3G... Nice!

Smatty, you're correct, the Bold on O2 has been put back due to carrier certification issues and it will now be October.

I don't know why but I suspect it's due to the quality of O2's 3G network - we all know about the iPhone issues on 3G and some of the beta Bold code I've run has shown some 3G network stability issues. With O2 having, generally, the poorest quality 3G network in the UK (aside from Orange) you would expect any network connectivity issues to rear their head more often on O2 than on Vodafone.

So is it worth buying a sim free one then, and requested a new sim from O2

And by the way
