Old Trackballs vs. New Trackballs
Please Login to Remove!
Ok, it's obvious that the older trackballs were smooth and the new ones are rough (and more accurate or exact). I have purchased a lot of trackballs from
cnn.cn they were only like 9.99 before and now have dropped to 8.99. I like the price but would prefer to have the newer type (rough surface). Has anyone bought the newer type? If so where and how much? I am not willing to pay more than $25.00 as I replace them often.
Thanks in advance!

Just for appearance. I have such heavy use that they discolor quickly.

wait so that grit feeling is in the ball, not in the device rollers on the print board?

I think it's the rollers. So, if you're into disassembling the trackball assembly itself, you could probably use your old rollers with a new, clean, white ball.

I have been playing with some of the newer balls... ;) I would really guess it's the ball. The is a substansial difference.
Ok, so back to the original question....anyone know where I can find a newer ball to purchase?

thats what i thought, that the rollers were not round, but had groves in it, causing the roughness i feel, i figure i ask since the op seems he wants a smooth feel and has a grit feel or vice versa.
