It looks alot better than the last attempt at a similar device.. And RIM is in the design seat!

P.S. I know this wasn't an actual RIM device, but there are some similarities

Ooh *wince*, that's hideous! That Samsung designer should be dragged out behind the building and flogged, but good!

Really? The Curve is ugly to me. The 81** and 88** are the only pieces I like right now.

Both the 81xx and 88xx are good looking devices, the 83xx is a good looking device as well minus the camera arrangement but then again RIM never gets the look right even on the 9100. But the 83xx is waaaaaaay better than the 91xx photo leaks that have been going around.

Im n ot really stoked about this thing. Looks subpar to me. I think it will do well though. You have no idea how many people want aclamshell blackberry. I often get asked by customers at my store if RIM made a clamshell. It will sell a lot. I wont get it though, that for sure

The kickstart might not be as bad as I thought it was.

It may be a great asset to users like me who have more than one device. Because carrying two QWERTY devices stinks big time. I got a pearl for my personal line so that when I have to carry both my phones I don't have two huge phones weighing me down.

I used to have a Motorola Star-Tac. The best cell phone I ever owned.

Ergonomic, compact, great battery life, excellent reception, great keyboard, easy to read lcd (not led) display, nice looking . . . . . take me back to 2000!!!!!!

I haven't liked a standard clamshell phone in a while, but... wow. That's one spiffy phone.

roofus - a couple years ago my dad abandoned his Verizon issued phone for a Star-Tac he got from eBay and swore by it. It certainly was a good phone - you wouldn't believe the amount of complaining (or "mourning" as he said) that was heard coming from him once it bit the dust last year.

There are, believe it or not (and you're likely not to find them on these forums) a large market for flip-phones. People simply cannot get into a bar phone, a full QWERTY like today's smartphones. This is RIM's way to get into that niche, which may likely persuade people who like their platform, but simply would prefer a "flip." Plus, RIM seems to like having fun with T-Mobile, so it makes sense.

Sheesh... at first I was like, eww flip phones, I don't like them anymore..
I might just have to get one of these though when they come out!! Now to debate between the kickstart and the 8120! Lol!
I just want to know what this phone's keyboard will look like haha
-edit-
yay for google.
If those pictures I saw were the real deal (I'm guessing they are) I might just wait to see if I really like this phone... wow. The only thing that would make it better is if it was a slider, because those are fun to play with :P

Pictures can be found here, mizditz! Just in case you were worried about Google. Reminds me a lot of the Pearl keypad.

Lol thanks!!
That's one of the pictures I came up with on google even! I figured the big BGR was a good sign that it wasn't totally fake

Haha I would hope so! There's more pics on the BGR site too if you're curious. I'm actually getting surprisingly psyched about this phone though there's no way I'll be buying it - I just got my 8800 and my bank account still hates me for it
