Is there a way to adjust the ringer volume besides the limited preset options. This is B.S. This thing is loud as hell with no low setting?????

are you going into profiles to adjust the ringtone volume? the volume keys on the side have nothing to do with it. welcome to the forums by the way

I have the same complaint. I have the profile volume set to the lowest setting for all of my profiles and it is still the loudest ringer I've ever had on any phone.

Could I have enabled some global setting where I identified myself as hearing impaired?

my curve is 8 billion times louder than my pearl so much that medium on my curve makes my speaker crackle with most of my ring tones

The volume on my curve was scarring the living bejessers out of me too. I set the volume in my normal profile to Escalating, and now its not so bad at all. It starts off low enough that by the time it gets louder to get my attention I haven't nearly had a heart attack.

I agree, my curve is still very loud, so much so that my family complains about my message receiving and mine is also set to low.

Agreed, I don't miss calls in the car for not hearing my ringer. But I swear it's going to ring when I'm going to bed someday and give me a heart attack. Is there no way to turn it down further?

I think this is due to the speaker port being at the top edge of the Curve. Even if the phone is in its sleeve case, any sound will come through.

A low-tech solution would be to stuff something in the port to muffle the sound.

Ha Ha Ha!!
Hey guys, I just upgraded from a Razr and the ringer volume and vibrate stinks! I almost always miss calls, especially in my car. I welcome the loud ringer on my Curve. BTW, great forum! I learned a lot from you guys and gals! Thanks a bunch!

I agree - I have the same problem with the ringer being so damn loud.

Surely there must be some way to address this?

The first time I used the alarm I had it on medium and the phone was about 2ft. away from head when it went off. I definitely was awake.
