Angry Yet Another RIM Outage ?? Nope.

Please Login to Remove!

It is Sunday evening, 11 PM out here on the West Coast, and I haven't had an email for most of the day today. Is anyone else out West experiencing the same thing, or anyone anywhere having trouble receiving mail on your BB?

Over the past 6 to 8 months, I have experienced numerous small outages that do not seem to last long enough to complain about them, but they are outages nonetheless. I am beginning to doubt the reliability of BB Email. Anyone else?

Wirelessly posted

There were comments about the RIM webpage being down, but it was said the BIS was still working fine. No problems here in the Gulf Coast!

Individual coverage and device issues do not constitute Yet Another RIM Outage....

No, it is not just me. Read the BoyGenius Report this morning, and he makes reference to "yet another" RIM outage. I've been a long time BB User, and I have noticed in the past year recurring RIM outages, and am becoming concerned, and questioning the reliability of the RIM Servers.

What makes you think it is an "individual or device issue"? I have a brand new Telus 8330, and I find it difficult to accept that my particular BB is having a problem receiving Email, and no one else.

You are not on Verizon, as BGR is vaguely reporting. Even most of the users responding to the BGR report are saying "all fine here". Did you read that?

Telus might be having an outage, RIM is not, currently. You might have a localized tower issue, RIM is not.

Believe me, if RIM were having another outage just now, it would be loud.

Call your carrier and confirm where the problem lies.

I had an issue with emails @ around 11pm PT Sunday.

In addition, I tried to login to my email account setup page via Tmobile's site (bis.t-mobile), and the page errored out.

Emails started coming in again @ around 11:07 PT.

the RIM website and blackberry.com was down due to some DNS errors, etc., but that did not affect the network.

this has nothing to do with the network itself for emails. and are you saying you had 12 hours of downtime, or 7 minutes of downtime?

CCK01, more info might be helpful, but that is fairly vague.

Are you BIS or BES? Have you called your carrier to determine an outage locally?

There is not RIM outage today.

So what other troubleshooting have you done, and have you confirmed a carrier outage on TMo? What area of the Midwest (its a big country)?

You're kidding, right? I'm guessing 99% of the time when a particular bb isn't receiving email, it's isolated to that specific user, device or account, NOT an overall RIM outage.
