Default How to start?

Hi everyone, I am new developing BlackBerry app (peruvian java programmer, JDE 6.0)
I check almost all the files giving in the blackBerry page, but is not helping me =(

I want to develop an application for the enterprise that i work in, they have BES, so i need help =(

I do not know what is the best way to start...

I want to develop an application that connects to a database and see, first objective, data (String or dataSet) from a table.
I tried using JDE 6.0.0 and KSoap2 to consume .Net web services, but this is the right way? is there another?
should i use web services for that? or not?

Should i use JDE plugin for eclipse or JDE 6.0?

I will appreciate very much your answers

If I were you I would definitely use web services. There are some .net objects that are not recognized by java, but enough are.

You will need to use either a generic java midlet (that will run on any java me phone) or the rim blackberry plugin for eclipse. Since the bb has JavaME you won't be able to use the full version.

I think, wokring with web services is much better. You can use Web Services 2 ways : KSoap and connecting to web server. Here are links that can help you for selecing the best option to use web service (i.e. KSoap or Web Server). Both are good enough, choose the best suitable for you. If you have your web service uploaded at your web server, choose the second option else go for ksoap.

For a tutorial with Web Server: search for "Building a Simple Web Service – Java using Tomcat" the tutorial is at roseindia site.

For ksoap - search for "craigAgreen-Blackberry & Ksoap2 Tutorial"
at craigagreen site

In both the searches, results will be listed first.

REG JDE or JDE Plugin, If you feel comfortable working with JDE, go for it else go for jde plugin for eclipse.

Hope it helps.
