Default unlocked blackberry.

What do you mean when you say the bb is 'unlocked'?

What are the differences between one that is locked and one that is unlocked?

Thanks A Lot

SIM card unlocked so you can use it on any carriers network.

It means that the BlackBerry is only able to work on a particular providers network. If you buy a 8700c from Cingular it is 'locked' to their network. If you get it unlocked, then the BlackBerry can be used on any compatible network.

Uhm... No.. Sprint uses CDMA, Nextel uses iDEN and the 8700 only works on GSM/GPRS/EDGE networks.
