Default HELP with texting please

Please Login to Remove!

I'm a new convert from PALM OS and so far the ONLY thing that I've found I don't like about the BB is the texting format...

On the PALM OS, if you are having a conversation with someone on text, the last thing that either party has sent is the only thing visible from that conversation. Then you click on that conversation and your entire convo will appear as if it were an IM.

With BB, there ends up being a huge jumbalaya of texts with no order and no way to follow along with your conversation, ESPECIALLY if you are texting with multiple people at one time.
My texting screen ends up being a morass of different texts from different people with no way of following my conversation with any of my contacts...is there any way to alter this or are there any downloadable apps which orders texts in a fashion that is more I.M.-esque and easier to follow along with your own conversations?
Thank you!!!!

I haven't found anything like what you are looking for. the only thing I can tell is when I click on a text message i can read all the messages from that person.

You are looking for threaded SMS. I have seen threads around here in the past on this subject. Search around a bit, I am sure you will find an definite answer.

I believe BBText2IM does what you're looking for, however, I have never used this software.

If you go to Options (wrench) and go to SMS Text and you can display the number of previous items, and that threads the texts underneath what your typing kinda like a quick review

Even supposed "threaded" SMS apps for other platforms (like Symbian and Windows Mobile) don't handle the conversations as well as Palm. Palm is the gold standard in threaded SMS. I miss this (and only this) feature from my Treos. There is only one message in the mailbox for a conversation. Each response doesn't generate a new one - it only adds onto the previous one. Sweet for saving conversations, and for restarting them later on.
