Default 7100 / Intel MacBook problem

Please Login to Remove!

Just downloaded the new PocketMac (v 4) from the BlackBerry website. The old version worked sporadically -- would often get crashes during update of calendar. But my old 7100's speaker stopped working, so I thought I'd upgrade the software with the new phone.

HOWEVER. Now the sync doesn't work at all. I eventually discovered that I couldn't have the phone attached (via USB) or Entourage open when starting the SyncManager (or when closing it), so at least I can get it open. Only once, however, has it actually recognized the phone itself, and even then didn't sync.

I know what I'm doing with technology, but this one has me stumped. The Sync Log has a variety of unhelpful comments, such as:
BlackBerry device pin 0
Error creating new item: -25299

Any thoughts? Does anyone have this combination working?

Default Which...

USB port did you use? I found that only the right hand side USB port works with the sync software by RIM, unknown why this is. I still am not able to load software to the 8700c as yet with this program.

If you can find a copy the previous PM version (I think it was 3.6), this version successfully sych'd my and my wife's 7100s with our MacBookPros. The software had a few quirks but we had successfuly synching of calendars across both our phones.

When we changed to BB 8100s, we had to download v4.0 (as 3.6 lacked support for the 8100). Version 4.0 has been a complete disappointment. The software does not appear to work or have been tested prior to release.

A final suggestion is to ensure that you backup the AddressBook, Calendar, Entourage (if applicable) before using any PocketMac product as data corruption can definitely occur with PM products.

Hope this helps.
