This Must be something silly simple.

I'm trying to install Opera Mini 5.1 on my 8530, so I can browse internet on PagePlus Cellular. All the 8530 has ia a wifi browser (?). ( I used the Opera version for the 8520)

I have installed Opera using the PC desktop app, and it is listed under Options, Applications(3rd Party), but there is no icon for it anywhere.
The Browse globe on my 8530 desktop/home screen is still the wifi browser.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Apparently no app I install, including Bolt creates a launch icon/link.

They are only visible under Options, Applications(3rd Party).

Is there some reason that a Verizon BB would not display installed apps?
Must the handset be unlocked?

What am I missing here?

You've checked both Applications AND downloads folders?
Do you have any icons hidden? Make sure you've got "show all" ticked if so.

Yes I have the Show All enabled.

The Download folders in the handset? I intalled these apps from the BB Desktop manager app, as the browser in the handset won't allow web access.

They were in the Downloads folder of the phone.

Yes, downloaded apps, no matter how installed, usually place themselves in the Downloads folder.

A Problem I Myself, Have never heard of. It's quite possible that there was a mix-up during the install. Best thing you could probably do is to just re-install the application. Give us feedback if it ever does get fixed.

Joel, did you bother reading the entire thread? The OP hadn't looked in the Downloads folder, which is where the icon was.
No need to reinstall the application, as it would still be in the Downloads folder, where the OP hadn't looked.
