Hi there, Help please. Here's what I want to be able to do...

1. assign a mp3 ringtone from my music files for when my daughter sms & phone calls me.
2. same as above but for another person.
3. have all other sms's have another ringtone
4. have all other phone calls have another ringtone

For example, my daughter did a cover of "Play Crack the Sky" and I want it to be her ringtone for when she sms or calls me.

Then for when the BF calls I want to set "Pretty Bad Boy" as his ringtone.

For when I get sms's I want to use "Wammer Jammer" as the the ringtone for all others.

And last but not least... for phone calls I want to use "Running with the Devil" as the ringtone for all others.

Is this possible? or am I dreamin?

I have a Blackberry Curve 8330 and a Mac OS X.

I have the songs saved in media - music but can't seem to transfer them to be ringtones?

Any advice, suggestions or tips would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, I have this done on my 8830WE:

First you might want to read this tutorial:

Once you have created/downloaded the ringtones you want, just copy them to your SD card on your mac...I put mine in a folder called ringtones.

Then go to Address Book, highlight the contact, press options button, scroll down to add custom ring...It will give you a list of ringtones and folders to find the song you want...to set the ringtone for all others, select Profiles>Advanced... and then highlight the one you want (like Normal) and click on options button again and select Show Ring Tones...again a window of folders with ringtones in it will show up, just navigate to the song you want.

Hi Statman, I went to the Crackberry site and looked at the steps to download ringtone but did not see my daughter, Goddo, & The J. Giles Band as choices - lol. They did have Van Halen, but not the one I want.

I think my problem is (well, one of them anyway - lol) that I must be doing something wrong when I try to assign them as ringtones to go into the "my ringtones" folder. I do have these songs on my mac and on my BB, but can't get them to go into the my ringtone folder :( I guess I'll just have to keep fooling around with it.

You can create your own from an mp3 song. You just need sound editing software. Do you have garage band? Or you can get iRingtones for Mac...create your own and then drag it to your berry.

Hi, I finally figured out how to save them as ringtones!!!

Have them set okay for the phone, but can't seem to set them for sms? I'm getting the one for everyone (wammer jammer)...
