Please Login to Remove!

My device only rings one time and I dont see any settings to allow for more rings...surely, I am missing something.... (insert Leslie Nielsen line).

Suggestions?

Are you talking about the phone alert, or a message alert. Message and other alerts have a setting in profiles for the number of "rings". Phone does not.

If phone, and if it is a custom ringtone you have set, try a stock ringtone as a test.

Talking about actual phone ringer. Using classic phone remix and it only rings once.

The only other thing I know to try is a hard reset. (With power on, remove battery for at least 30 seconds.) And then test it.

See what others say.

It's not a feature that stopped working. It isn't an option in the profile settings.

I understand. See my first reply. --> There is no profile setting for number of rings for phone.

The phone will ring for a certain fixed amount of time. There is a FAQ article on it, but I don't have the link handy. See blackberryfaq.com if you haven't already read the article. The short of it as I recall is the time period is controlled by the carrier.
But your issue as stated is the number, not the time period of ringing.

Thus, if you are using a stock ringtone and it only sounds once, I don't know what to do except try a battery pull.

As aiharkness stated there are no options to set the number of rings but you can try different ringers and see if one is longer than another. Another fix is to call Sprint and ask for a xxx8220;ring time extensionxxx8221; I did this with my cell service because it forwarded to VM too quick.
I have ATT now and they let it ring a few times before forwarding.

I'd say wow, but it doesn't have the same meaning anymore. So, How about that!

I wonder if it will be the same thing with other native tones or just that one. Or whether the tone(s) got boogered somehow.

At any rate, happy you solved it. Thanks for the update.

I thought the ringer would repeat unless it was too long. I agree Wow.
Learn something every day.
