I was speaking with a tech Saturday and he said that we could expect a lot of the issues we're all having to vanish once the update from Verizon is released in the next couple of weeks. I know they don't always speak the truth but I'm seeing this more and more around the net.

Maybe this time it will happen

this sounds about right. New device OS around the same time the app store is supposed to go live.

hopefully the new OS release won't be .113, because that left me with edge/EDGE problems....

I can say this with full confidence: if .113 ends up being the "official" OS release (if there ever is one) that'll be the last OS on this phone because it'll be in a drawer somewhere.

you have my vote on that !

so far .76 has been good to me, so be it that it's slower than the newer OS's....

although i'm sure that if it works fine for verizon subscribers, verizon could care less if their OS release causes problems for non-verizon Storm users....

Guess it depends on your definition of "like". Oh I think .113 is much improved over the .76 or whatever the last official release was, but it's FAR from being good (IMHO). I reverted back from .114, and I think the memory leak is much worse in .113.

I guess my point is, I expect much, much more. Especially having to wait FOUR FRIGGIN' MONTHS for an update. If that's the best they can do after four months (and I think my anger is at Verizon, not RIM here), I certainly won't have the patients to wait another four months and the next go-around. Easier for me to cut my frustrations and go get a Curve, even if I have to change providers.

Yeah...thanks for that. Like I need more hassle, being a Storm owner and all!

And judging from the BBNewsFeed Tweet I just got, looks like .113 will be official. Byos condios if so...see y'all in the Curve section sometime soon!

Default April 1?

What worries me is a release on April 1 (April Fools Day), of a possible release of 1(13). 76 has been ok for me too, short some lags. Hasn't gotten in my way. But this delay seems to be something they could go two ways to explain. Either the system is so bad they are having major troubles fixing it, or, they are taking meticulous care to get it right. I hope it is the latter.

I've had spontaneous reboots, no MMS forwarding, BBMessenger crashes to name just a few of the issues in .113. And as someone earlier pointed out, if this is really the official release, the Niagara is looking better and better.

I really hope there is a new Official Release. The v4.7 for my 9500 didn't work properly.

Everytime I install/remove an application(s) using Blackberry Destop Manager, it always Reinstall the 'Blackberry Core Application (4.7)'.

This is very annoying because for installing/removing a small application, I have to wait ages untill the reinstallation of the 'Blackberry Core Application (4.7)'.

Anybody face this problem?
