I cant believe that this Canada/Mexico quality control thing is still going on. This dates back to the original Curve 8300 launch. Loose battery covers were all over the Mexican made ones, as well as crunchy rubber sides. Now this a couple of yrs later with the Tour. All I have to say to RIM is this, for a multi Billion dollar company you guys really do give your die hard followers the shaft when it comes to releasing new devices that are made well. RIM had better be careful down the line, Palm, Apple, & HTC are really pushing hard these days. It's very easy to loose people that like having a device with really good build quality, especially out of the box!

PS...on my second Tour, and both are blessed with the loose battery door. Both made in Mexico.

I'm very curious to know what you guys are telling the reps in order to get a replacement Tour. Are u guys really telling them, "I need a replacement because the battery door doesn't stay put," or do u guys just tell a lie? Cuz I'm wondering, is it THAT BAD that u have to return it...?

I didn't return because of the faulty battery door, swaped because of terrible voice quality. But to be honest I would return because of something like that. Think about it for a second, your spending hard earned money on a new device, not to mention signing a 2 year contract, for something that is not 100% out of the box. I'd imagine many people would say what ever they had to Say to the rep to make an exchange take place. Some don't care, some do! Different strokes for different folks I guess!

Funny I had to replace mine because the OS was screwed up and the battery door is fine now. My original one was loose and it bugged the heck outta me. I would have absolutely returned it for this reason alone.

Mexico.

If I deliberately try to make the door move, it can make it move.

I would not call this "wobbly" by any stretch though.

wobbly here, but the phone works great, screen is fabulous, so I dont care about the cover. Would be luck I take it back and exchange it, get a non wobbly door but a defective phone.

I just replaced my Tour because it died on me. The original one had a solid battery cover. Now the new one is a bit wobbly. If you look at the bottom of the phone the cover lifts up slightly. Very weird.

Is this actually a flaw with the cover itself? Or something inside that is pushing the cover out a little?
