Unhappy Calls not getting to 8830

Please Login to Remove!

If there are any Verizon folks available, I'd love to hear if you have any experience with this...

I've had my 8830 for a little over a year. Great device, no problems - until now. I know that I've missed at least 3 phone calls in the last week. The person calls, my phone doesn't ring, and there aren't any missed calls in the call log. Two of those callers left me a voicemail, the icon for which showed up just fine. One person didn't leave a voicemail and didn't send me a text message, so I wouldn't have even known they had called if they hadn't contacted me again almost an hour later. Today was the 3rd time it happened. My BB was sitting next to me on the table. It didn't ring and the screen didn't light up. My profile was on normal. I heard the alert for a voicemail message, which is the only way I knew someone had called. I had 5 bars when it happened.

Any idea what's going on? Many of my clients use my mobile # to reach me, and missing their calls is not OK.

Have you updated your roaming with the Verizon network lately?

Dial *228 and select option #2.

Yep, that was the first thing I did after missing call #1 last week.

Last night I called VZW and they reset my BB including a *228 + option 1. We'll see if that helps. One more missed call and I'll be back on the phone with them.

I was able to give them a 20-minute window for when call #3 would have come through yesterday - they said they didn't see anything. (Is the call traffic data really available to them that quickly?)

I have an AT&T 8820. Got it in Jan 08 Great device, no problems - until now.
I have missed at least 4 phone calls in the last 3 days.
My Call log data is missing - I don't see the phone icon at all in the messages folder?
I had a similar experience a person calls, my phone doesn't ring, and there aren't any missed calls no phone icons in the call log. The callers left me a voicemail, the icon for voicemail DID show up. My profile was on both loud and normal. I live in an area with pretty good signal strength. My icon shows Edge as network.
All of my old log log data - dialed calls and missed calls is gone?

This is not specific to Vz. I have an 8830 on Bell and this happens to me as well. Honestly, when this happens I reset the Network through Services. Not sure if it works because it sends one call through and black another so not sure if it helps just thought I would suggest.
