Remove the battery and put it back in. Also, hook it up to a power source and put in the battery

Also, when the battery charge is too low, you'll still see the battery error icon when plugged into a charger. Let it charge a while, then remove and replace the battery. The device should then boot.

But nake sure there's no crud or dust or dirt on the battery contacts, and make sure the battery fits tight in the compartment and the battery is making contact with the terminals on the device.

If you still can't charge, then try other charging methods.

And it does happen sometimes that the USB port on a blackberry gets damaged and the device cannot charge.

If your battery is charged and it won't boot and gives you the battery error, then either the battery isn't really charged, the device can't see the battery because the contacts are dirty or the battery contacts are making contact with the terminals on the battery, or there is some problem with the device or device software.

If the battery contacts are clean and the battery is tight in the compartment and you believe the battery charge is good, then remove the battery for a good several minutes and try again. If you still get the battery error and you can borrow another battery that you know is good, then that would be the next step, I think.

Thank you for your help, all of you.

Interesting. Glad it's figured out.

Just for giggles before sending the battery back, try charging with a wall charger for about an hour, then with the blackberry still on the wall charger, remove the battery for about 30 seconds and replace. See what happens. I think the device will boot. If it does, leave the battery to charge fully and see whether battery life is normal or if the battery runs down fast. Make sure you don't have any apps running in the background except the always open core apps when you do the experiment.
