Thumbs up Sync Pod for Storm

Please Login to Remove!

I just received my Sync Pod for the Storm and I highly recommend it!
I was concerned about how easy it would be to load and unload the bb because
I have had similar hardware in the past where the usb ports didn't align properly etc.

The Sync Pod fits the storm perfectly and looks good on the desktop too.

Are you using it at work or home?

I had thought about getting one to put on my side of the bed and use it like a clock. I currently charge my BB from the end table by my side of the bed and put the BB into bedside mode frequently. This seems to be a more polished solution.

I have one and love it! Works fantastic as an alarm clock by the bed.

I think I might get one then. Have you set alarms on the BB when you have it docked? Does that seem to work as intended?

Is the clock always on or does it dim to a blank screen eventually. What kind of long term affect do you think it would have on the display.

In bedside mode the screen dims to its absolute lowest level and remains on. It is unobtrusive and very useful. I love having it with the Bold and Pearl Flip so I will probably order one for the Storm.

While it is at it's lowest level, it does put more time on the LCD, however I think even if you left the LCD all day / night it would still likely outlast you willingness to stay with the device. In other words you will likely have moved on to your next phone long before the LCD wears out.

LCD's typically last Between 5 - 25 Years or 20,000 to 30,000 hours

I am using it at home but I just ordered on for work too! It does make a great alarm clock as you propose!

Newegg has these listed for $20. Now they just need to get them in stock.

I just bought one for my office from Amazon.com for $22, and a OEM Blackberry travel charger for $8. It was $35 for all including shipping.

Unhappy

I've bought the docking/charging station and have been using the BB storm as an alarm clock. I'm quite near sighted and enjoy the fact that I can actually SEE the time and would prefer it to stay lit all night or only dim slightly. I'd like not to have to roll over touch the screen to see what time it is. Any suggestions?

Clock>Options> then choose bedside mode or display clock when charging.

Both show the clock all night long dimmed slightly, however not slightly enough for some from what I hear!

It's dom enough. The moon brings more light in than the phone does. With the dock, the Storm is now my dedicated alarm clock. I must say the Storm does everything, but help me breath. It is my newspaper on the throne, my secretary, video player, etc. My wife is worried about being replaced.
