Unhappy "Call Failed" on 3G

Please Login to Remove!

I have been having a problem with my Orange UK Bold 9000 since I got it yesterday. When ever I try to make a call when on 3G all I get is a message saying "Call Failed". If I swap to 2G only I can place calls without problems. I have updated the device to 4.6.0.134 and I still have the issue. Is anyone else having these problems?

What kind of coverage do you have. Seems it takes excellent coverage to use 3G.

I am using the original OS that came on the device and have not seem 3G even blink but I am in Jacksonville, FL where we must be thick in 3G as I have not dropped a call and to tell you the truth, voice quality is outstanding.

There are others, in the forum, who are having issues like yours.

According to the Blackberry I have a 5 bar signal strength. A datacard on the same 3G/HSDPA network is working fine.

Then it sounds like it could be a hardware problem. Sorry.

Angry

That's what I thought. I called and reported it to Orange and now I have to wait upto 72 hours for them to decide that it's a phone problem and not local network issue so they can replace my device.

Orange is different that AT&T. If you bought it from them you simply go and exchange it within the first 30 days if it is defective or not.

That's what I should be able to do but for some reason it's been sent to a different team who can take up to 3 days to respond. I think I might just cancel and send it all back!

I am VERY curious to know your settings when you have this problem.
Are you on 3g or "3g + 2g"?
and do you have wifi on when it happens?
