Well....I gave it a real good work out today. The server seemed to go up and down so test results are screwy. One run I did do recorded on live but i couldnt get it to come up in history properly....looks like a timing issue. More latter. NICE APP!!!

for me adding 4 hours to the time made the tracking history correct.

BBtracker uninstalls itself every time I connect to the Application Loader. It basically says something like "removing module xxxx bbtracker.cod". It flashes on the screen so I don't get much of a chance to read it.
There may be two reasons:
1) somehow related to Cingular BB 8800's not being able to use Blackberry Maps unless you use a modified .alx. BBMaps used to always uninstall it's .cod file every time I used the application loader. I no longer use BB Maps so it's no longer a personal issue.
2) I have installed "both flavours" of BB Tracker:
- Jochim Sauer's 0.4.0 uses a module called "bbtracker".
- Chris Moos' 0.2 uses a module called "BBTracker".
(Above info taken from the Advanced -> Applications screens.
I've been following threads on each author's applications here in this forum, and no one else has mentioned it; so either no one else runs both (unlikely?) or the problem is unique to me.
It's always the second application (Chris Moos' 0.2) who's .cod file gets uninstalled when I use the application loader. I don't remember which application I installed first, both OTA fwiw, but they were installed close in timeframe to each other. However, by pattern, the 2nd one is always the one that gets removed and I have to reinstall it.
Any ideas or comments by users of both applications?

They co-exist fine, and BBMaps also existed fine and would continue to do so indefinitely I would guess, until I use the application loader. And it's my 3rd version of desktop manager and I believe I am running a fairly current version (a month old at best).

I noticed that the program will not re-connect after a loss of connection. Is it possible to have the program reconnect after so and so time without asking the user if I want to reconnect?
Usually, it takes me 2 hours into the time to realize the program is no longer sending data because of time out and it would be better if it auto reconnect.
That's the bug I'm having, not sure if anyone else has the same problem.

Some Enhancements if I may
Any chance of the following? I added them to your Trac page.
1. Can you add marine units ie Knots
2. Is there any way to add a Waypoint (GPS Mark) on the fly to mark say a good fishing point
As soon as the weather clears I'll be out fishing and my family will now where I am and most importantly when I'm heading in, great app.

i have seen it where i go in a building and it loses connection, really drains the battery when its searching. When i come out of the building and allow ithe gps to reacquire, it does,

Some more testing done today. History is way out of wack. The miles are no where close to what happened. And my BB rebooted by itself during a test run. May not be related but it was on that screen at the time.

I just noticed that my location had not been updated on my BB for over an hour so I logged out of the application. When I thrurd to restart the app I got a message staying unable to connect to server bad DNS address.

That happens to me too. I waited an extra 10 to 15 seconds and try again. If that doesn't work, I try and try and try and try and try again. Until I gave up, then I try every 30 seconds.

Yeah I recently changed the IP address so it takes a while for DNS to propogate. Should be up now.

xoclipse,
Do you have any plans to make the tracking public so the the people that I give my username to can track me without login in? That is what I'm looking for in the future.
Anyone else?

I just noticed that when I look at the location of any of my "friends" from the website they all seem to be at the same place on the map. I tried checking the location in both FireFox and IE.
Either my three "friends" are all the same person or someone has a commune going for Blackberry users.

Wow, thanks a ton for this app. I love free stuff and especially stuff that's as useful as this. This is awesome so please, when you have time, keep it up. It's an outstanding service to many people.
