Default PLEASE, use accurate Titles

Please Login to Remove!

I am trying to find out why
1) I cant delete some messages
2) how to get my filters working.

SO, I do a search, yay!
I find LOTS of posts with titles
"new user"
"please help"
etc
how the <expletive> does THAT help?
Try a title that actually TELLS me what the post is about!!!!!
"My blackberry catches fire", ok, thats definitive
but
"HELP!", not so much.

Also, people should use question marks when asking a question so as not to get my hopes up when asking whether some feature is available. For example, a thread inquiring about streaming audio should not be entitled
"Streaming audio on Curve." Instead it should be entitled "Streaming audio for Curve?" or "Is it possible to stream audio on the Curve?" or something like that.

It drives me nuts when people eff this up.

You're not alone in your quest for appropriate thread titles.....

Good points kirwoodd.

And that thread title has been "adjusted" to fit his post, and the subsequent thread.

I agree as well, but to play the devil's advocate, I love opening up a thread that says "Noob needs help!". The element of surprise is there. You never know what you are going to get .

lol, yea, it's like when my 7 yo daughter calls from another room and says "Dad, come look at this...". I am usually very curious.

It's even better when all you hear is "Uh oh...." and they DON'T call you into the room!

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry8800/4.2.1 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

I think sometimes people are confused about how to accurately title the thread.

That is a very good point. A lot of times they think the issue originally is one thing, but it turns out the resolution could be the complete opposite of what the original poster thought

true, it happens to everyone.
But titles like 'HELP please!"
or "new user"; really, the poster isn't even trying.

True. But even a title of "Having a problem with my Pearl" would still be better than "Help!!" or "Noob needs help!" because I can still see that it's a Pearl issue and is not relevant to me.

I agree, at least they are in the general ball park. I say we should ban all the posters that start "noob needs help" threads.

Be right back, I need to be the first one to be banned
