I googled blackberry .chk files and (not yet allowed to post URLs); I don't recall making any repairs. Author stated:
On the 9650 Bold this is a known issue: when booting, the device often indicates it found a corrupted memory card. If you choose "Repair", it asks if you want to convert lost clusters to files. File0000.chk would be one of those files; very much like chkdsk on a PC as noted in this thread. I delete mine and haven't had any negative consequences.
