Anyway to fix this on my 8110? I really like the tight and smooth trackball on the Bold.

I would just replace it.. Mine is getting loose as well, so time for a replacement, lol...

Sure! I have probably replaced 20+ between my phone and friends. It literally takes about 30 seconds once you have done it a few times. There are instructions stickied at the top of the 8100 forum with pics. Just pry up the chrome ring from the 6 o'clock position with a tiny screwdriver and gently work it up (so you don't break the three prongs off). Pop it out noting the orientation (long silver tongue on the ball assembly goes down 6 o'clock) Pop the new one in align the three prongs and press down firmly. Wallah!

Thanks. I think I will give it a shot as long as the new trackball will be smooth and tight.

What about the cheaper non-OEM trackballs. Are they any good?

I heard that they designed some of the new trackballs to be loose and grainy.

I checked the shipping and it is a whopping $9 for regular delivery. Ouch!!!

I got an OEM cheap one from eBay... It works, but is loose.. I'm gonna give Horizon a shot this time, I want a tight one!!

Man, this topic can really go in the crapper quick, lol...

All new track balls are grainy cause the rollers have grooves in them to grip on the ball better. But then again if the bold has a smooth one maybe they reverted back? Will have to look into this.
