Default Periodically I don't have any sound when on a call??

Please Login to Remove!

Every now and then I go to make or receive a call and I can't hear the person on the other end of the phone... I can do a battery pull and everything returns to normal, but I'm wondering if anyone has seen/heard this before (I want to say I read about it somewhere before..)

And.......... Is there a way to fix it? lol.. I understand the reboot app and battery pulls aren't hard, but they're kind of a pain when you get a call and can't hear anything, etc...

Thanks,

-Corey

No, it's definitely some kind of bug... It'll be find on one call, then completely mute on the next call...

Ending the call and calling back does not work for me, I can't hear anything until I battery pull.. Very annoying...

ohh well...

Can you check your memory free when this happens? Options->Status->File Free. Could be low memory problem; especially because battery pull fixes it. You want to keep it above 10MB for smooth operation of the BB.

If it is indeed low memory you might want to optimize according to JC, http://www.blackberryforums.com/gene...ee-memory.html

My phone does this too. It is VERY annoying! How do I know if I am low on memory. By file free it shows 39104956 bytes.

That is pretty good free memory. I'm generally in 12xxxxxx range and I have not seen this problem yet. Are you posting the free memory when the problem happens or after the battery pull?

May be someone more experienced than me with BB can shed more light on this problem...

I have had the same problem numerous times. I have sort of pinpointed it to third party apps that use voice commands- vlingo, yahoo onesearch, windows live search, etc. Try removing those types of apps and see if that resolves it. I can't be certain about this, but it would be interesting to see if this helps others out.
I'm on 4.5 by the way, 8120 T-Mobile.

I don't have any voice type apps, except the voice commands that comes on it... Very odd, sometimes it will be fine for days, then others I have to battery pull couple times a day...

I FOUND IT!!! At least on mine!

It'll be absolutely fine until I view an MMS message, that's where it stops... I have tested this theory 3 times, with success each time... It only happens with full MMS messages... In other words, pics don't do it, only sounds...

Hope this helps someone...

Sometimes it can be weak service on either party's line.
