Not sure what changed from dobson, looks good. it doesn't have the .cod for voda today so if you want that theme save your .cod from a previous handheld install and copy it back into here:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\Shared\Loader Files\8700-v4.1.0.351_P2.0.0.143\Java

I ran the new version of Bharti for a few days on my 8700 and I must say the volume was terrible, the worst I've ever had. All sounded clear and great except the volume was too low. On the other hand, load times have decreased and a few other oddball things I can't put my finger on at the moment.

Looks like Vodafone really went into it with separating their themes. I've updated the ALX thread.

Jibi's right there.

Here are a couple of screen grabs of the regular Voda themes from this OS.
the pic with a Vodafone on top left of screen shows up as 8700v.cod in the java folder.

Can anyone comment on the volume ("I must say the volume was terrible, the worst I've ever had" - posted above)? I tend to load the newest but that post has me wondering if I'll do it and quickly want to return to the Telstra .309 version.

Thanks,
SMF

You can hear fine if there's no noise around, but when doing anything or around anything that makes noise it's difficult to hear. I put it back on because I noticed signifcant speed improvements for both handheld and downloads, I have two phones and my other is may main so I can deal with it.

I haven't noticed any volume difference. Although I haven't tried with my bluetooth headset yet. I use it in my car too which isn't the quietest environment.

Well I installed it (the version from O2 Europe - did my own mod to the blackberry.alx file) and I'm with Inphektion regarding the volume. I find it the same as I had with the .309 Telstra build.

One very interesting item I noted in the vendor.xls file - the last entry under T-Mobile is for 4.2

Are we all talking about the Release 4.1.0.466 (uptil now for Bharti & O2 Europe) here?

~~Edit~~
Decided to compare the Bharti .466 and the O2 Europe .466 OSs by installing each on my PC.
(I already had the Bharti running; simply moved the entire folder out so I could compare after O2 OS install).

Here's what I came up with:
O2 Vendor.xml and net_rim_bb_qm_peer_resource_en.cod files are newer than the Bharti.
O2 Vendor.xml mentions the TMO US 4.2.0.53 OS while Bharti does not show it.

Strange... I guess my BB doesn't like this update I went back and forth between updates and it changed each time.

I'm loading mine on an 8700g with T-Mobile. I'm using the earpiece mike that came with the BB not a bluetooth headset.

I did have an issue with the vodaphone today theme. It's not there (I followed the instructions in jibi's thread). The dimension today theme is there but not the vodaphone.

I like the new vodaphone theme - it's similar to the one I was running on my 7230. The O2 build has several more carrier specific themes such as verizon, cingular, bell in addition to the vodaphone theme.
