I don't appear to have a 'show all' option, but I checked every item in the 'Organize Applications' list, and now none are hidden, but still no second browser, or a configurable t-zones browser. I distinctly recall having two Browser icons ('Blackberry Browser' & 't-zones') before upgrading my 8100 to 4.2.1.107

Yes, when I go through the Alt+Esc routine I have...

Browser, Phone, Home Screen, Messages, Blackberry Messenger, and myFaves

in that order.

When I select Browser from that list it is using the t-zones browser, when I then goto options within that browser, none of the values are editable anymore. I used to be able to set the homepage to say Google, or change the emulation to IE mode and so on.

The biggest problem I am having is when I go to BB's mobile website and try to push an application such as one of the weather programs it tells me I need to be using the Blackberry Browser to push apps to my phone.

Edit:
I want to add that my remark a couple of posts back about getting annoyed was not directed at any of you assisting me, but rather at myself and this damn phone, the browser worked great before I put the 107 patch on.

Does anyone know where I can find a pre-107 OS file for the T-Mobile 8100 (Pearl), maybe this is a setting with all updates from 107 on-wards?
Can anyone else with the 8100 model tell me otherwise?

I believe this was asked, but I'll repeat: if you select options > advanced options > browser, can you select internet browser as the default browser configuration and default MDS browser configuration? If so, do it, then save, then back out of options, and test your browser. If you can't select internet browser then it's over my head.

Thank you aiharkness, I guess this exceeds both of our abilities then.

All I have under 'Default browser configuration' is t-zones; same for the WAP configurations option on that same screen.

Just a few last ditch questions:

- Is there a way to blank out the whole phone and start with a complete fresh install of the OS, similar to what you can do with a computer?

- Could it be that even though my plan says I have the full internet package, that T-Mobile has not set something - no idea what they have to do for a BlackBerry? Maybe a T-Mobile Tech Rep can answer this one.

- Could T-Mobile have a file living somewhere on the phone that is overriding the normal Blackberry functionality?

Thank you to all who have worked so hard to help me resolve this. If I cannot get this working as it should then I think I am just going to ditch the phone and go to a regular plan.

Thumbs up

OK I got it... I just went crazy on my phone and started deleted a whole bunch of c**p from my service books screen under advanced options, and now it (the BB-Browser) is there. Along with facebook and a couple of other new items.

So thanks to everyone for sticking with me through this, and a special thanks to whoever got me thinking about resending the service books.

I just reviewed the service books entries again and there is a number of new entries now.

I guess the update to 107 screwed this up some how - an isolated case I would guess.

THANK YOU ALL!

Well, I'm thoroughly confused. I thought your ran through an upgrade? And you immediately had this issue afterward? Don't understand that, but, all the same, I'm glad you got it working.

I did, I went for 4.2.1.x to 4.2.1.107 which is when the problem started to happen, I then applied 4.2.1.109 as JS advised but for some reason the service book never got refreshed. It had the same email address in there some 5-10 times and a whole bunch of other things for WAP and so on. I just deleted everything but 'Provisioning' which it would not let me remove and then restarted the phone.

And then all these new icons started to appear.

I do have a confession to make however, part of the confusion was because I also had a theme applied (Phantom) which does not offer the 'show all icons' option, and presents your applications in a list rather than icons across the screen.

So another lesson learned, at least for me and possibly other on here, is to always switch to the default theme when trouble shooting.

But again, thank you for your patience!

Good idea Charlie, switching themes when it appears an icon is "lost", making a mental note here.

Confession is good for the soul, and for problem solving, too! . . . I'm making mental note, too. But I'll probably lose it.
