Default Sent email sync issue in 4.0

Please Login to Remove!

We have recently upgraded to 4.0 and I have a small revolt on my hands. Many of my users are hating the desktop sent items being synced to the BB. They want just items sent from the BB to show up as sent on the BB as it was in 3.7. Is there a way to set it back to that scenario? Thanks in advance.

on the device, go to messages->option->email reconciliation->folder redirection

Uncheck "Sent Items"

Problem fixed.

Unfortunately I've found this to be a default setting in 4.0. You have to manually change it on the handheld so users don't get this.

Default No option

Under email reconciliation there is no option for folder redirection on the 4.0 devices we have. Should this be done from the server?

Look in the submenu under email reconciliation. It should be there.

Default Not listed

All I have listed is:

Message services: Web Client
Delete On: Mailbox & Handheld
Wireless Reconcile: On
On Conflicts: Mailbox Wins

There are no other submenus or choices.

On that screen, click the trackwheel, then look in the submenu that opens up.

Default I have checked again

I have also looked at other BBs. There is nothing even in the trackwheel menu. The only items there are to change the above items or purge deleted items.

Default Seems to work

I made the change and only items sent from the handheld show there. Thank you for the info. I did not realize that menu had been added. Just because I know one of my users will ask is there a way to have the sent items from the blackberry show in Outlook but not at all on the handheld?

Is there a way to change the BES policy and push this from the server, and remove sent reconciliation, when a device activates against the BES?

Same here.

In Messages > Options > Email Settings > Folder Redirection, the only folder I have checked is Inbox.

When I send email from my desktop, it still shows in my BlackBerry Messages.

Only way to do this via IT Policy would be to check 'disable saving sent items'. The IT Policy isnt specific enough to turn off this particular part of email synching.
