Default Verizon 7750 4.0 Available

Please Login to Remove!

Just wanted to let everyone know (sorry if I'm late, but haven't been on lately) that the Verizon 7750 4.0 handheld code is out on their site. I responded to Mark in his thread, but wanted to post it here as well.

Also, 4.0 for the 6750 is out as well.

So do they allow us to browse yet with their service or do we still need BES/3rd party BES?

If you go to the Host Routing table in the Options section and click on any selection there will be an option to register now.

This will load the appropriate info and Browser Icon and everything will work from there.

Wow I just did it. Thanks!

Man this thing is slow. I expected slow but not this slow. I assume it is the processor on the blackberry itself slowing it down.

Go to your browser preferences and turn off the extra stuff. If you don't need tables support, turn that off. Also, I usually turn off images when browsing the web, and I can manually trigger the download of images in web pages only when I really need them.

These configuration changes will speed up the browser dramatically. Make sure you have more than 1 megabyte free (Options->System) by deleting unnecessary applications and older emails using Delete Prior.

Alternatively, use Reqwireless Webviewer at http://www.reqwireless.com

ok Mark for us dummies please give more specific advice. Here is what I see listed in my browser settings:

Content Mode-WML & HTML
Show Images- On WML & HTML Pages
Show Image Placeholders-No
Emulation Mode-Blackberry

Items checked:
Support HTML tables
Use Foreground & Background Colors
Use Background images
Support JavaScript
Support Style Sheets

Items not checked:
Support Embedded Media (Flash,SVG)
Allow JavaScript popups

and finally:
Style sheets media type- Handheld.

Do you mean to say if I uncheck some of these options I wont have to wait 5 minutes for blackberryforums.com to load?
